Sprocket tooth grinding

  

Honing teeth have high machining accuracy, which can reach level 4 or higher, but the cost is higher and the production efficiency is generally lower (except for worm wheel grinding machines).

  

The CNC gear grinding machine adopts the ordinary alumina grinding wheel to grind the tooth surface of the grinding wheel into the enveloping surface of the involute spiral surface (roller tooth surface). The surface is a reflection of the tooth surface of the roller. For gears with modification requirements, only the diamond rollers need to be modified to grind the required modification gears. The machine tool grinds a workpiece for only 34s, and grinds the wheel every 20-30 workpieces. When dressing, just put the diamond roller on the workpiece position, and then carry out a cyclic process similar to grinding the workpiece to achieve the dressing of the grinding wheel. The dressing time is about 50s.

Sprocket heat treatment

  

The sprocket's heat treatment includes surface hardening, carburizing and quenching, nitriding, and quenching and tempering. According to the requirements of the gear, a reasonable heat treatment should be selected. For products that are not subjected to grinding after heat treatment, stable and reliable heat treatment equipment is essential.

 

Sprocket grinding process

  

The surface of the gear teeth after quenching has oxide scale, which affects the surface roughness, and the heat treatment deformation also affects the accuracy of the gear. Because the workpiece is hardened, in addition to grinding, it is also possible to use honing for finishing. The principle of tooth honing is similar to that of shaving. The tooth wheel and the workpiece are similar to a pair of helical gears without backlash engagement. The relative sliding at the meshing point is used, and a certain pressure is applied between the tooth surfaces for tooth honing.

  

Sprocket trimming

 

Toothing effect largely depends on the machining accuracy and heat treatment deformation of the previous process. In addition, without a proper gear dressing method, the teeth are not trimmed during the entire use process, which affects the improvement of the accuracy of the teeth.
