The difference between front idler, tensioner and guide wheel


Front idler gear is a gear that is sandwiched between two gears and meshes with both gears. Its role is only to change the relationship between the rotation direction of the two gears before and after it.


Tensioning wheels appear in belt drive or chain drive. Its role is to tension the belt or chain, reduce the vibration and energy loss during their movement, and change the position.


The guide wheel, as the name suggests, mainly plays a guiding role. In the design of the wheel train, in order to meet the design requirements and overall dimensions, the direction of the belt is more complicated. Cause of front idler damage


1. The front idler bimetal sleeve sliding bearing is out of tolerance at different axial degrees, and the track walking generates vibration and impact. Once the geometric dimension is out of tolerance, the clearance between the idler shaft and the sleeve is too small or no clearance, and the thickness of the lubricant film is not enough No lubricant film.


2. there are defects in the original structure. Lubricating oil is injected from the screw hole at the end of the idler shaft, and then gradually fills the entire cavity. In actual operation, if there is no special tool for oil injection, it is difficult for the lubricating oil to pass through the cavity in the idler gear only under the effect of its own gravity, and The gas in the cavity is not discharged smoothly, and it is difficult to fill the lubricating oil. The oil filling space of the original machine cavity is too small, causing a serious shortage of lubricating oil.


3. The surface roughness of the front idler axle is extremely poor. There are many metal peaks on the shaft surface, which destroys the integrity and continuity of the lubricant film between the shaft and the sliding bearing. During operation, a large amount of metal grinding debris will be generated in the lubricating oil, which will increase the surface roughness of the shaft and the bearing, and the lubrication condition will worsen, causing serious wear of the idler shaft and the sliding bearing.


4. It is because the lubricating oil in the gap between the front idler shaft and the sleeve is unable to take away the heat generated by the bearing work due to the absence of oil passages, which causes the bearing's operating temperature to rise, the viscosity of the lubricating oil to decrease, and the thickness of the lubricating oil film to be reduced.
