Attentions when installing the seal of the hydraulic cylinder.
First of all, the surface quality of the seal should be checked before installation. There should be no burrs, burrs, cracks, or cut edges. Defects such as pores and porosity, the geometric dimensions and accuracy of the seals must meet the requirements of the standard. The combined sealing ring for holes is composed of an O-ring and a wear ring. O-rings have greater elasticity and are easier to install; wear rings are less elastic. If they are directly installed, the steps and grooves of the piston can easily scratch the sealing surface and affect the sealing effect.
To ensure that the wear ring is not damaged during installation, certain installation measures should be taken. The wear ring is mainly made of filled polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) material, which has the characteristics of corrosion resistance and large thermal expansion coefficient, so it is immersed in 100 ° C oil for 20 minutes before installation to make it gradually softer. Then fit it into the groove of the piston with a tool. It consists of positioning sleeve and expansion sleeve. The head of the positioning sleeve has a 5º chamfer, which is used to guide the O-ring and wear ring into the groove at the end of the piston. The expansion sleeve is made of 65 Mn steel with good elasticity after heat treatment, and processed into a uniform and symmetrical 8-lobed structure. It should be noted that when processing the small holes at the bottom of each petal, the indexing should be uniform. When milling each petal, the sawn should be aligned with the center of the small hole to ensure that the petals of the expansion sleeve can evenly open. At the same time, all parts should be chamfered (smoothly) to avoid damage to the seal ring.
Each type of sealing ring should have a corresponding tooling to ensure its assembly requirements. After installation, the seal must not be wrinkled, twisted, scratched, or reversed. The threaded hole on the cylinder of the hydraulic cylinder is usually arranged to be processed after the welding process, so that burrs are inevitably generated at the interface between the exit of the threaded hole and the inner wall of the cylinder. In order to remove burrs, special tools must be designed and processed to achieve a smooth transition. The structure of the special tool is shown in Figure 4. When using, first insert the cutter rod into the threaded hole, and then install the cutter head on the cutter rod from the side. Rotate the cutter rod to remove burrs and process a smooth and complete surface.
